Auto Insurance prices vary for each individual, family, college student, professional, homeowner, etc. For example, people with good driving records pay less than a driver with traffic violations or collisions where they have been at fault.  Prices will also vary depending on where the driver lives.  A person who lives in a major city such as St Louis, will pay more than someone who lives in a small town, despite the two having the same driving records.

Uninsured Motorist Coverage protects responsible drivers, against those who may not have insurance, or only have the state minimum required insurance.  If an insured driver is involved in a no-fault accident with an individual who is uninsured , the insured driver is stuck with the bills incurred from the accident that was not their fault!  It is especially important for drivers to protect themselves against those that may not have auto insurance.

MJM Insurance of St Louis City Agents encourage our clients to carry more than the minimum Uninsured Motorist Coverage that is required by law. Often times, we see consumers left with financial despair because they were not adequately insured.

Missouri Auto Insurance Uninsured Motorist Coverage is required by Law.  An insurance company cannot issue a contract of automobile liability coverage in Missouri without including Uninsured Motorist Coverage on the policy.

Missouri Auto Insurance TIP:  It is also a good idea to have the same limits for Uninsured Motorist Coverage as you have for bodily injury liability. THIS COVERAGE IS FOR YOU. It pays for your injuries and damage to your car, if another person is at fault and has no or not enough libility insurance coverage.

The purpose of Missouri Auto Insurance Uninsured Motorist Coverage  is to help pay for bills as a result of a crash that was caused by another person who doesn’t have auto insurance or doesn’t have enough insurance.  Does your policy cover you if someone else is not properly insured?

OUR AGENTS OFFER A FREE MISSOURI AUTO INSURANCE RISK ASSESSMENT.  Missouri Auto Insurance Uninsured Motorist Coverage | MJM Insurance of St Louis City | (314) 645-2100 As part of our services, MJM Insurance of St Louis City provides a free risk assessment to ensure the right protection is in place for you and your family.  We look at your overall worth, what assets you have that could be at risk, and how your family could be affected by a financial loss.

The coverage limits for Uninsured Motorist Coverage protection can range from $20,000 up to $1 million. Our agents consider a number of factors, including how much your car is worth, what kind of medical insurance you carry, whether you own a home, if you have sports equipment, etc.

Missouri Auto Insurance Uninsured Motorist Coverage offers coverage for bodily injury and can offer coverage for damages to your car. In addition to injuries to the driver, the bodily injury portion of Uninsured Motorist Coverage may also cover injuries to your passengers or family members who are driving the vehicle at the time of an accident.  All the coverages in your auto policy apply when you are driving, but they also apply when other people are driving your vehicle.

Missouri Auto Insurance Uninsured Motorist Coverage will also pay for damages to a vehicle that was parked and not occupied when the at fault party is unknown, commonly known as a “hit and run”.   Your auto uninsured motorist coverage will pay for these “hit and run” damages less your deductible.

Missouri Auto Insurance Uninsured Motorist Coverage | MJM Insurance of St Louis City | (314) 645-2100 Missouri Auto Insurance Uninsured Motorist Coverage is especially important for Motorcycle drivers. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a motorcycle rider is 35 times more likely to suffer serious injury or death from an accident than occupants in a passenger car. The NHTSA also states that the motorcyclist is rarely at fault when involved in an accident. If you are in a motorcycle accident and the other party has no or insufficient liability insurance, you can face significant costs for an accident you didn’t cause.

For those uninsured , the plea of guilty WILL RESULT in the entry of a conviction on a driving offense. Convictions for offenses will be sent to the Department of Public Safety for entry on your driving record, or to the Department of Natural Resources, and MAY RESULT in the loss of your license by those agencies.

In 2014, the Insurance Research Council News published an article in The Insurance Journal discussing the cost of uninsured motorist claims has risen dramatically in the past decade. Missouri law prohibits an uninsured driver, who is the owner of the vehicle or a driver operating a vehicle with or without permission who is uninsured, from collecting for non-economic damages in a civil action against an insured motorist alleged to be at fault for an accident.  However, the limitation does not apply to passengers in an uninsured driver’s vehicle and does not limit the recovery of benefits provided or economic losses. Furthermore, recovery of non-economic damages in instances where an insured driver who is at fault because of operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol will still be allowed under the new law.

St Louis MO Auto Insurance

Easy To Understand Auto Insurance

St Louis MO Auto Insurance | MJM Insurance® of St Louis City | (314) 645-2100Auto insurance is something that every driver should have. A lot of people simply go and get a quote for the minimum that is required for St Louis MO Auto Insurance, and do not really pay attention to the kind of coverage that they are getting. It is important that you recognize the value of the car insurance coverage that you are getting. MJM Insurance® of St Louis City can help you understand how much the right auto insurance coverage can protect you from the financial liability you will have to assume, if you should get into an auto accident. It is important to find out what kind of protection your auto insurance provides, understand your insurance needs, and make sure that the insurance protection you purchase will give you the best insurance coverage at the most affordable rate.

An auto insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company.  The contract guarantees that the insurance company will pay up to the covered amount for necessary expenses resulting from named contingencies. Simply put, if you injure another person or damage their vehicle, your car insurance company would pay them up to the maximum amount stated in your contract for medical expenses or repair expenses.

There are many types of coverages available to you in an auto insurance policy.  The following list will help you understand St Louis MO Auto Insurance, so you can make the right decision that meets your needs.

LIABILITY COVERAGE

All Missouri drivers are required to purchase and maintain minimum amounts of liability coverage. Liability insurance coverage is typically a required type of car insurance. Even in the rare state that does not require liability car insurance, you may find that having liability insurance is worth the financial security.

Liability insurance includes 1) Bodily injury coverage, which pays for injuries suffered by others in an accident you caused and 2) Property damage coverage, that pays for damage you cause to another person’s property in an accident.

UNINSURED MOTORIST COVERAGE

Vehicle coverages can serve as financial protection when your car is damaged or broken down. However, this coverage only pays for your vehicle damages. For comprehensive protection, remember to look into the other 2 main categories of car insurance: liability insurance and medical coverages.

Missouri also requires drivers to hold uninsured motorist coverage for bodily injury at the same minimums as those listed for liability coverage. Liability insurance only pays for bodily injuries or property damage suffered by others when you are at fault in an accident. Liability insurance only pays for bodily injuries or property damage suffered by others when you are at fault in an accident. Your own injuries or property damage are not covered through liability insurance.

MEDICAL CAR INSURANCE COVERAGE

Medical coverage is an important auto insurance coverage. Also known as Med Pay, medical car insurance covers the costs (up to a limit) for injuries that you or  your passengers may have when riding in and while loading or unloading the vehicle.  You and your family may be covered as a pedestrian also.

COMPREHENSIVE AND COLLISION INSURANCE

Comprehensive Insurance Coverages, will help pay for repairs to your car when damaged by an event other than a collision.  Although this coverage may vary between insurance companies, it generally covers damages from fire, theft, vandalism, hail, falling objects, animals or fowl, natural disasters, and all glass breakage. Collision Insurance Coverage will help pay for repairs to your car after it has been damaged in a collision–such as hitting another object.

Comprehensive and collision coverages are optional; however, more often they are typically required as part of a car loan or lease agreement.  Think about this – when you cause an accident, what is your first thought?  Of course, its if everyone is okay, but then you see the damage and wonder how you’ll pay for the other driver’s damage. If you have liability coverage, this will may cover all of those costs. However, if you only carry liability insurance, you could be left to pay for your own damages out of your pocket.

St Louis MO Auto Insurance | MJM Insurance® of St Louis City | (314) 645-2100Insurance rates vary by many factors, and we highly recommend you to discuss the options with your MJM Insurance® of St Louis City agent.
